MORNING DAILY TOUR DURING WEG WITH LANE’S END FARM

Blue Grass Tours is offering special itineraries on our daily tours during WEG. On Sept. 29th, Oct. 1st, Oct 4th, and Oct 6th this includes breathtaking Lane’s End Farm’s stallion complex. Lane’s End, owned by Mr. and Mrs. William S. Farish, includes more than 3,000 acres in Central Kentucky. The leading stud farm in North America ten times, Lane’s End is home to such top sires as A.P. INDY and SMART STRIKE, who each led the General Sire List two years, as well as two-time Horse of the Year CURLIN, the richest money earning Thoroughbred of all time. Next we will visit Old Friends Farm a rescue and retirement farm for Thoroughbreds specializing in retired Stallions. Old Friends provides these wonderful champions with the dignified retirement they deserve including Seabiscuit star Popcorn Deelites. Along the way we will see many other signature farms and hear entertaining narration from our professional guides.

FARMS, FARMS & MORE FARMS

Fill your day with magnificent Thoroughbreds and three stunning farms as we drive along Paris Pike, one of the most scenic byways in the nation past historic homes, dry-laid limestone fences, and horse farms! We will begin our tour at Adena Springs Farm in Paris, Kentucky, known for its passion for the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industries. The stallion roster at Adena Springs includes winners of both the Kentucky Derby and the Epsom Derby. Next we will enjoy downtown Paris for lunch and brief shopping time. The journey continues to Denali Stud, an industry standard-bearer that has been a leading consignor every year this decade grossing over $250,000,000 in sales since 2000. Tour the broodmare division with distinguished boarders including champion 3-year old filly Serena’s Song.

LANE’S END TOUR

Enjoy a comfortable ride on a deluxe coach to tour breathtaking Lane’s End Farm’s stallion complex. Professional guided narration of the Bluegrass and the Thoroughbred industry will be given to and from the farm. Lane’s End, owned by Mr. and Mrs. William S. Farish, includes more than 3,000 acres in Central Kentucky. The leading stud farm in North America ten times, Lane’s End is home to such top sires as A.P. INDY and SMART STRIKE, who each led the General Sire List two years, as well as two-time Horse of the Year CURLIN, the richest money earning Thoroughbred of all time. Lane’s End has built a sterling reputation for its stallion and sales divisions and also offers a number of other services as well. The farm has been the leading consignor at 23 sales and has sold more than 310 stakes winners, including six Belmont Stakes winners. Will Farish was the fist breeder since 1880 to breed or co-breed two horses which together won all three Triple Crown races in one year: 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner CHARISMATIC and Belmont Stakes winner LEMON DROP KID. AFTERNOON DAILY TOUR DURING WEG WITH ROOD & RIDDLE
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
$45 per person
Blue Grass Tours will be offering some special stops on our daily tours during WEG. On our Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon tours we will head to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital to tour their state-of-the-art facility. Rood & Riddle is a full-service equine hospital known and respected throughout the world for innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses and offers a full range of services including surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused Podiatry Center and specialized Reproductive Center. The practice also provides ambulatory services for emergencies, preventative care, general reproduction, radiography, and medical care and treatment at the horse’s barn or stable. After touring this wonderful equine hospital, we will visit a signature Thoroughbred farm for a private tour to see these beautiful horses!
